CUCKOOLANDER
Personnel: Holly Hardy.
Location: London, England.
YOU WILL LIKE MY MUSIC, IF YOU LIKE... The darker side of soulful pop music.
IF YOU ONLY LISTEN TO ONE OF MY SONGS, YOU SHOULD LISTEN TO… 'Beating Myself Up'.
WATCH THIS VIDEO, BECAUSE... It's the latest video I released and it's a colourful tribute to animals and nature in the style of strange 90's TV documentaries.
MY TOP FIVE MUSICAL CRUSHES ARE... Prince, Sheila E, Frank Zappa, Carol King, Chaka Khan.
YOU KNOW YOU'VE MADE IT WHEN...You get to sing a duet with your hero on the pyramid stage at Glastonbury festival, for me that would be my Mum who is an incredible singer.
COUP DE MAIN: If you were to curate your own music festival, who would you want to play and what would the festival be called?
CUCKOOLANDER: I don't know what it would be called but it would be at my Gran's house. It will be a 3 day improvisation lead by my Gran and people that come should also bring their Gran.
CDM: What's the most despicable thing you've ever done?
CUCKOOLANDER: When I was 10 I sent death threats to classmates in the Christmas post at school.
CDM: If you could pick any five people (living or dead) to be in your entourage, who would you choose?
CUCKOOLANDER: David Attenborough, Zaphod Beeblebrox, Mel Gibson, a Dinosaur and Edward Scissorhands.
CDM: Who is your most famous fan?
CUCKOOLANDER: Charli XCX, she took me under her wing and has been a big part of helping me to get my music out into the world.
CDM: Do you believe in magic?
CUCKOOLANDER: I am definitely a fan of magic and fantasy!
CDM: What is your spirit animal?
CUCKOOLANDER: A baby panda on roller skates.
CDM: How long could you go without talking?
CUCKOOLANDER: Not very long, I love to ramble.
CDM: If you could steal one thing without consequence what would it be?
CUCKOOLANDER: The Queen. I would treat her nice, make her tea and then give her back.
CDM: What is the most heroic thing that you've ever done?
CUCKOOLANDER: When I was younger I was playing in an abandoned church and I untangled a trapped butterfly that was wrapped inside a spider's web.
CDM: Have you ever written a love letter?
CUCKOOLANDER: Yes, I'm very fond of writing love letters to a partner but also friends and family.
CDM: What is your first proper memory, ever?
CUCKOOLANDER: When I was about two, walking around in my Mum's high heels, gurgling water from an eggcup, laughing, and practicing saying the word 'cat'.
CDM: If you were a country, what would be your national anthem?
CUCKOOLANDER: Pink elephants on parade.
CDM: Have you ever had an out-of-body experience? If so, tell us about it.
CUCKOOLANDER: I have not. Although I have had a few lucid dreams and I can also re-enter the same dream after waking up and that's good fun.
CDM: Stretch your right arm out as far as you can reach, what can you touch?
CUCKOOLANDER: Snails.
