A Twenty One Pilots x live show appreciation post.

A Twenty One Pilots x live show appreciation post.

To celebrate the fact that Twenty One Pilots are returning to our shores next March - and this time they’re playing in Auckland and Wellington! - we’ve decided to compile together some of our favourite of their live performances.

The duo will play Wellington’s TSB Bank Arena on March 24th, and Auckland’s Vector Arena on March 25th. Tickets go on sale to the general public on Thursday May 19th at 2pm.

Wellington tickets will be available via Ticketek, and Auckland tickets will be available through Ticketmaster.

Here’s the official tour info:

"Fresh off their massively successfully, sold-out Australian and New Zealand headline tour, TWENTY ONE PILOTS have announced their biggest New Zealand shows to date when they return in March 2017. Making their Wellington debut at TSB Bank Arena on Friday March 24 and returning to Auckland’s Vector Arena on Saturday March 25.

American alt-pop duo Twenty One Pilots completed their third trek to New Zealand last month selling out their only Auckland show. The band also released their new single last week, 'Ride', a follow up to the worldwide smash 'Stressed Out' which has reached #6 on the Heatseekers chart, and is currently sitting at #9 on the NZ Top 40, retaining its top 10 spot."

And here are some reasons that you should be excited for their live show:

#1. Their live performance of ‘Migraine’ in The Live Room showcases their diversity as musicians. Watch it below:

#2. They open their show with the hypnotic ‘Heavydirtysoul’, and the intensity is unparalleled. Watch their performance at the Fox Theater below:

#3. Back in 2012, they performed a sold-out show at the Newport Music Hall in Columbus, Ohio - their hometown, and the performance of ‘Car Radio’ was insane, and it features Tyler going out into the audience. Watch it below:

#4. While in Australia recently, they performed an acoustic version of ‘Stressed Out’, which is in total contrast to their intense live shows, but is equally as enjoyable:

#5. Another hometown performance in Columbus saw the duo playing The LC. This video shows the preparations for the show from the day before, people queuing up for miles. They closed their set with ‘Trees’, which was also captured on camera - and features the epic scenario of Josh and Tyler performing by being held up in the audience.
