The National announce new boxed set + listen to a new song featuring Sharon Van Etten.

The National have just announced that they will release a limited-edition vinyl pressing of their legendary performance of ‘Sorrow’ - where they performed the song continuously for six hours, as part of a collaboration with Icelandic artist Ragnar Kjartansson.

The boxed set will be called ‘A Lot of Sorrow’, and will be limited to a vinyl run of 1500. Each box set will contain nine individual clear vinyls, and is set for release on June 19th, 2015.

The great thing about the release is that the profits will be donated to Partners in Health - an organisation which is committed to improving health of marginalized people.

As well as this, the band recorded a song during their ‘Trouble Will Find Me’ sessions called ‘Sunshine on my Back’, working with Sharon Van Etten. The song is available when you order the documentary ‘Mistaken for Strangers’ (via their website HERE), and you can also get the song on iTunes.
