A Blink-182 x 'California' appreciation post.

A Blink-182 x 'California' appreciation post.

To celebrate the release of Blink-182’s new album, ‘California’ - out today! - we’ve compiled a list of things that we currently appreciate about the iconic band.

But first, here’s some official info on the band:

The San Diego 3-piece Blink-182, who alongside Mark Hoppus and Travis Barker now feature Alkaline Trio frontman Matt Skiba, replacing departed founder member Tom DeLonge, have sold 50 million albums worldwide and can easily lay claim to being one of the most influential punk bands of the ‘90s.

‘Bored To Death’ was recorded with producer John Feldmann (member of the band Goldfinger and producer of Five Seconds Of Summer, All Time Low and more).

Now without further ado, here are 5 things that we appreciate about the band:

#1. Ahead of the release of their new album, they visited BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge, to perform ‘Bored To Death’ - as well as two older songs, ‘All The Small Things’ and ‘Rock Show’.

Watch the performance:

#2. The band paid a visit to KROQ radio to speak about the new music, where Matt spoke about being a part of the record, and a part of the band.

Watch the interview below:

#3. For the first time since 2004, Blink-182 sit at the top of the Alternative Song Charts! In the American charts, 'Bored To Death' sits at number one, and their last number one single was with 'I MIss You' - all the way back in April of 2004. It's total testament to the fans that the band is still seeing this level of success, even with Tom's departure from the group.

#4. Mark Hoppus is BFF with fellow faves Halsey and Twenty One Pilots. Talk about squad goals - look at them all hanging out without me:

#5. They’ve embarked on an enormous tour across the United States, with support from the likes of All Time Low, A Day To Remember, and The All-American Rejects. In our interview with Mark Hoppus last week, they said they were looking at options to get Travis down to New Zealand, so let’s hope for a New Zealand show soon - "We love touring in that part of the world, and we would do it again in a second, especially if we can get a boat for Travis to get down there."
