E^st releases new song 'Blowjob' as a feminist reclamation of male dominated language.
Australia's E^st has followed up 'Life Goes On' with new single 'Blowjob' - meant as a feminist reclamation of the term - which was premiered by Zane Lowe on his Beats 1 show this week, and during which she asks a relatable age-old question, "Why we so damn hard to love?"
About her new song, E^st says: "This song was written about two people getting themselves into the same situation for very different reasons, and hoping for different outcomes. It's about how we use each other in our own ways, and how that can leave us feeling isolated and alone even while we're with someone. It's about having unrealistic expectations and having reality shake you because of it. It's about going after what we want in all the wrong ways. It's about being lonely."
