#1 'SCOTT PILGRIM VS. THE MATRIX' - "a Trailer Mashup Edited By AEmovieguy".
"Once upon a time, while serving as battery fodder for machines who've imprisoned the human race to a cyber reality, Scott Neo Pilgrim met his dreamgirl, Ramona Trinity Flowers, at a Canadian collegian party for 30-year-old drug and prostitution ringers. Upon being freed from The Matrix, Pilgrim seeks out Miss Flowers, oblivious to the fact that Morphew Patel, the very man who took Pilgrim in, is an ex-boyfriend of hers. Enraged after seeing Pilgrim and Flowers getting flirtatious at the yearly Zion Stock, Patel challenges Pilgrim to a dojo duel for Flower's hand. Following a narrow victory over Patel, Pilgrim has earned his trust and an explanation: Miss Flowers has Seven Evil Exes that Pilgrim must defeat to prove his heart muscle...but, hey, they can make out!"
#1 What I really wanted to embed was 'Edge Of My Dreams' by LISA MITCHELL but I couldn't find anything to embed online... so here's 'Neopolitan Dreams' instead. The Polaroid camera she uses at the beginning of the video is the same one that I have - happyface.
#1 Everyone could do with a little bit of PATRICK STUMP on a slow-moving Monday, right? If you aren't reduced to a melted mess by his cover of The Wedding Present's 'My Favourite Dress' then there is something seriously wrong with you...
My lovely friend Josie went to the States recently and bought me back a SHE & HIM tote bag from their Hollywood Bowl show (with The Bird And The Bee and The Swell Season)... I think that I may now have a different tote bag for every day of the year now.
But before you shake your head in dismay at me - this one is DOUBLE-SIDED! See above for the 'girl'-side, then below for the 'boy'-side. I love tote bags. HAPPYFACE.
[ I snapped the above photo last week at the Silo Theatre's production of 'Assassins' at the Auckland Town Hall - would be amazing to fall asleep under, right? ]
Today is the very first day in way too long that I've been able to sit completely still on a chair and just watch the rain falling down outside my bedroom window. Sounds boring to you probably, but little things like that make me happy 'cuz the only other times I get to watch the world spin round is when I am impatiently waiting for something to happen - and being impatient is a full-time occupation of mine that I am not overly fond of.
Anyway, these are my top five songs I currently like to listen to while it's raining:
Boys that play the tambourine are the bestest. Boys that can interpretative dance all whilst playing the tambourine... well, need I really say more? In retrospect, I think my heart still belongs to Ezra Koenig, but for a good twenty minutes last Thursday I fully wanted to marry Jacob Graham of THE DRUMS.
Thanks to COMPUTERS WANT ME DEAD, last night I learnt that: - if you want to learn how to fly, all you gotta do is put on a Super Saiyan face and channel your inner vampire. - eating lots of starbursts will totally stop the sky from raining. - Momotea is probably the only place you are going to find open at 11pm in town, after having walked around endlessly in errr circles. - dark and deserted alleyways are actually a lot safer than I would've ever thought. - sleep is for the weak. Man up! Or, just eat a lot of chips and spill some beer on the ground.
I tend to avoid photoshoots because I have a really short attention span and always wind up bored and wishing desperately I was somewhere else. Fashion things interest and entertain the other half of me - Sacha - but myself, not so much. Anyway, turns out if you add a JANINE FOSTER to the shoot, things are infinitely more fun.
In between forcing everyone listen to what I wanted to play - lots and lots of Sleigh Bells - I snapped some pictures...
One of my best friends Jessica, held her 21st birthday party at her childhood kindergarten yesterday. Balloons, ice-cream, a turtle... and the Wild Things were all in attendance. Naturally, I was in my element. After the daytime party, just one glass of Pimm's at the after-party made me awful sleepy. Luckily I know how to cure the flu: drink one litre of freshly squeezed orange juice and then sleep for twelve hours. I swear by it.
P.S. I think my favourite phone call this week, was General Fiasco's NZ publicist calling me to ask if I could understand Owen (vocals) on the phone okay. For the record - I could. And he might just be the cleverest boy I have ever spoken to.
"You have to make sure you drink pineapple juice at least once a day for your voice. You have to avoid eating too much carbs... I had carbohydrate-induced depression. I said some really messed-up hurtful things not only to the band, but to the audience, in French."- Ezra Koenig
'Eclipse' is in cinemas now. Yawn. Publicists keep trying to send me rip-off tween vampire books to read. Double yawn. The '8-Bit Twilight Eclipse Interactive'? The exception to the rule! Bella frustratingly though, never does what I want her to...
P.S. DOES ANYONE ELSE WISH THAT THERE WAS AN IPHONE APP TO PLAY POKEMON ON?
"Have a heart, have a heart, have a heart / sixteen six six six like the pentagon / we are the river flow / and you can never know / you're just a weatherman / we make the wind blow..."
The ban.do heart reminds me heaps of the SLEIGH BELLS song 'Rill Rill' (or maybe it's the other way around?). Trust me to associate hair accessories with songs - two things that I really, well... heart!
